Buwan Ng Wika 2020 – Official Theme, Poster, And More
BUWAN NG WIKA 2020 – In the month of August in the current year 2020, Filipinos are currently celebrating the event called Buwan ng Wika.
Official Theme of BNW 2019
According to the official website of the Philippine Information Agency, the current theme is:
“Wika ng Kasaysayan, Kasaysayan ng Wika” Ang mga Katutubong Wika sa Maka-Filipinong Bayanihan Kontra Pandemya “
This is meant to value the Filipino language, as well as other ethnic languages as effective weapons against the pandemic.
It also aims to encourage the BAYANIHAN of the Filipino people in order to contain the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
It also observes the value of the mandate of Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) to promote the propagation of Filipino and other ethnic languages as the most effective medium in obtaining the collective understanding of the Filipino people.

In the poster include the following elements:
- Boat and Three Passengers
- The boat represents the Filipino people and the three passengers represents Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao.
- Paddling (Pagsagwan)
- The paddling of the three passengers represents the BAYANIHAN which is best done by many rather than just one.
- Waves
- The waves represents obstacles or directly pandemic, which was faced by the country ages before the current COVID-19 pandemic.
- Paddle (Sagwán)
- The paddle represents the ethnic languages as the primary tool in helping passenger be taken to a fast, peaceful and safe place.
