2 Chinese Nationals Rescued From Kidnappers In Las Piñas
2 CHINESE NATIONALS – Two Chinese nationals were recently rescued from kidnappers in a PNP-AKG rescue in Las Piñas.
According to ABS-CBN News, Philippine National Police-Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) spokesperson Police Maj. Rannie Lumactod Jr. reported that the rescue was conducted following a report of one of the victim’s spouse.
The spouse, identified as Jiang Xiao Hao, approached the PNP-AKG premises.
Xiao Hao said that the unidentified suspects nabbed her husband at Regency Salcedo, Bel-air, Makati City at 2:45 PM on August 7, 2020.
The kidnappers asked the victim’s relatives to send 500,000 Yuan or more than P3.5 million in exchange for the victim’s freedom.
The spouse said that Jiang’s family refused to comply with the kidnappers’ demands.
The victim was tortured and was taken 80,000 Yuan or more than half a million pesos from his Alipay online account.
After validation of the report, the PNP-AKG conducted a rescue operation at Louis Vail, Aurelia Street, BF Resort Village where Jiang and another victim, identified as Li Weizu, were rescued.
Based on the report, the kidnappers, identified as Weng Zhiting at Cheng Guo were arrested.
Initial probe shows that their modus was to lure the victims that their Philippine peso will be exchanged for a much higher exchange rate via an online money account. They, then kidnap their victims once the victims decide to exchange money and asked the latter’s family for ransom.
The suspects will be charged for kidnapping for ransom and serious illegal detention.
