Here’s what Mikael Daez revealed about his first meeting with Marian Rivera
Kapuso actor Mikael Daez revealed that he was “mayabang” when he first met GMA’s Primetime Queen Marian Rivera.
During the recent podcast of Mikael with wife actress-former beauty queen Megan Young, he revealed this incident in his showbiz career. The celebrity couple talked about their experiences in the entertainment industry particularly when they were just starting, based on the article from Bandera.
Mikael shared that he auditioned for the series Amaya that was starred by Marian. He said that at that time he had no idea how things work in showbiz.
“I had zero idea what is an audition, never in my life had I gotten into the arts, I had no idea what an audition looked like, what you would do. To that point, I had never seen a script for anything,” the actor shared.
When he went to a huge studio he was told that he will be introduced to his leading lady. “I think they were saying it in a way na ‘This is Marian Rivera.’ It wasn’t registering to me as anything. I had no idea how big she was at the time,” he said.
At that time, Mikael Daez did not know the star status of Marian Rivera. He said that he just knew that she was pretty and that she had a billboard in EDSA.
“Being the jerk that I accept, I come in, I was like ‘Okay sure, I’ll meet her, say hi, of course ‘di ba?’ I was trying to be nice. I wasn’t trying to be mean or anything but because of my unawareness and ignorance, I came off as very fresh, masyadong presko, masyadong komportable bigla,” he described his first meeting with the primetime queen.
He added that he should have acted better than what he did. When he was introduced, Marian reached out her hand as she said, “Oh, hi, ako si Marian.” Mikael said, “Hey, ‘sup? I’m Mik.” Then, he just left after that.
“So many things were happening but yeah I was a jerk. I’m sorry. Yanyan, I love you, you’re amazing, you’re beautiful. I was a jerk,” the actor said.
Mikael said that he is lucky that he was able to patch things up between him and Marian as they became close while doing Amaya. As they continued shooting for their series, he talked to the actress and fixed his mistake.
