What’s next for ABS-CBN reporters?

ABS-CBN reporters, reportedly, started applying for jobs in other networks following the decision of the House of Representatives to junk the network’s franchise application.

In a recent report, the media company released a statement saying that it will start to lay off employees on August 31. However, the TV giant said that it will have a program that will help employees who will lose their job.

Amid the pandemic, celebrities have started having their businesses while some manage to do some online shows. However, an extra burden was put under the shoulders of the Kapamilya stars as their home network is not allowed to continue its broadcast.

The news and current affairs of the network is also affected. Several programs already bid goodbye off the air. Based on the article from Abante, there are ABS-CBN reporters who started finding jobs in other networks.

Entertainment columnist Ambet Nabus said in his article that a source told him that some reporters of the Kapamilya network already transferred to PTV4 and TV5.

He added that some reporters are talking with the management of GMA 7 and CNN Philippines and some are asking help for their network transfer.

Meanwhile, Nabus said that It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda easily had his own YouTube channel because his management house Viva Entertainment is the major producer.

The Kapamilya noontime variety show, the rival of GMA’s Eat Bulaga is still airing via YouTube. However, according to the entertainment columnist, they have no idea how wide is the reach now of the noontime show compared to what it has before.
