Presidential Spokesperson Roque Tells Filipinos “Hindi Niyo Uli Gets”
HARRY ROQUE – Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque recently did an online briefing and tells the country “Hindi Niyo Uli Gets“.
Recently, Roque was the center of another round of jokes because of his “Sayawan ang COVID-19” statement. After he made this announcement, his TikTok video started resurfacing again on the internet like a vengeful spirit.

However, Roque didn’t take lightly to the jokes and took it upon himself to defend his statement. According to an article from Philstar, the Spokesperson stated:
Marami pong hindi nakakuha ng sinabi ko at naging subject na naman ako ng memes, at binuhay ang aking TikTok video. Hindi po ito literal na sayaw,
Furthermore, Roque explained that there’s something called the “Hammer and Dance Theory” which aimed to flatten the virus’ curve. The spokesperson explained that the “hammer” was the government’s strict COVID-19 response which attempted to “hammer” cases down.
However, the Philippines still continues to report increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases. Yesterday, the Department of Health tallied over 2,500 cases, an all-time high for the country.
Meanwhile, in terms of the dancing portion of his announcement, Roque stated:
Pero ‘yung dance naman po ay kapag napababa naman natin ‘yung banta ng sakit, ay dahan-dahan naman nating bubuksan ang ating ekonomiya
Still, despite the theories and the speeches about hammers and dances, the Philippines still holds the 2nd spot in the most number of COVID-19 infections in Asia.
On Wednesday, the Philippines already recorded 50,359 cases of the new coronavirus. Of that number, over 1,314 have already succumbed to the deadly disease.
