Kapamilya actress Julia Montes is being rumored to have her network switch amid the ABS-CBN franchise issue and here’s the reaction of her handler.
Julia had her showbiz comeback early this year and this ignited excitement from her fans who have been waiting for her to do a new project in ABS-CBN. However, everything has to take a halt in the entertainment industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The hurdle for those in the Kapamilya network even went higher when the network was ordered to shut down.
Based on the article by Reggee Bonoan in Bandera, rumors surfaced that there’s a negotiation between GMA 7 and Cornerstone, Julia’s management. Allegedly, this came as the actress has no recent project with ABS-CBN and her weekly series 24/7 with Arjo Atayde took a halt because of the pandemic and the franchise renewal issue.
In line with these rumors, Bonoan directly asked Mac Merla, the handler of Julia Montes. “Buti pa sila alam nila. Ako, kausap ko lang si Julia kani-kanina lang wala kaming kaalam-alam. Wala rin kaming napag-uusapan tungkol sa paglipat ni Julia. Salamat sa diretsong pagtatanong sa akin,” the handler said.

When asked about the weekly series of the actress, Merla said that there is no final decision yet if it will be shelved because to their knowledge, it is just postponed as they can’t shoot with the present situation.
Furthermore, Cornerstone President and CEO Ericson Raymundo was asked if their talents received offers from other networks. He said that their talents will remain under ABS-CBN as long as the network needs them. It is because they are treated well in the Kapamilya network, Raymundo said. Additionally, Cornerstone is not planning to transfer its talent to other networks due to “pagtanaw ng utang na loob”.
