Open Letter of Martin Nievera For Congressmen & Congresswomen over ABS-CBN Issue

MARTIN NIEVERA – Kapamilya Concert King Martin Nievera took to the social media an open letter for the lawmakers over the ABS-CBN issue.

The franchise of the ABS-CBN network has yet to be renewed and hearings about the issues surrounding the network are still ongoing. To note, it was during the first quarter of 2020 when the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) issued a Cease and Desist Order against the network.

Immediately, the Kapamilya network’s broadcast operation went off air. For several weeks while the country is dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, the operation of some fields of the network stopped.

It was just recently when some of the programs under the ABS-CBN network went back to airing. They aired through Sky Cable and Kapamilya TV Plus but had to stop after a new NTC order was issued.

Martin stated that it is his first time to do it and it is not for the sake of his job or the jobs of his colleagues. According to him, the Filipinos “need to be informed, inspired, and entertained”.

The Concert King admitted that he’s heartbroken over the Congress allegedly wanting the Kapamilya network to be off air completely. He stressed that he cannot imagine the Philippines without the network.

Martin Nievera stated that the ABS-CBN network has made some mistakes and he understands that the lawmakers are just doing their job. He pleas for a second chance for ABS-CBN and he is confident that the Kapamilya network will make things right. Here’s his open letter on Facebook:
