Former Actor Patrick Dela was Discovered by Mother Lily in a Toothpaste Commercial

PATRICK DELA ROSA- The former actor was discovered by Mother Lily Monteverde in toothpaste commercial in 1983.

The actor Patrick Dela Rosa shared how he got into show business when he is not dreaming to be one. He couldn’t believe it had been 37 years since Lily Yu Monteverde called him to sign a build-up contract as Regal baby.

Mother Lily is looking for Patrick, the matriarch of Regal Films after the film producer watched his Close Up commercial in 1983. Patrick was only nineteen years old when he was discovered, based on the article of PEP.

Perfecto Dela Rosa was born and raised in Oriental Mindoro. It was St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) when he was discovered, so Mother Lily called him Patrick and made it his screen name.

According to Patrick, it seemed like a dream come true because he never dreamed of being an actor. Patrick was a student of AB Economics at San Sebastian College. Patrick later became a board member of Oriental Mindoro, where their family was known.

The Shame (1983) and Hepe: Hindi Ka Na Sisikatan ng Araw (1990) are two of Patrick’s favorite films. Shame was his first film starring with a newcomer also on showbiz, Claudia Zobel.

Meanwhile, Patrick also had the best-supporting actor nomination for the Hepe movie, which was lead by Eddie Garcia. When Patrick started out in showbiz he was starring in sexy movies.

Except for Shame, the other sexy movies he made were Uhaw Sa Pag-ibig (1984), Sinner or Saint (1984), Harot (1984), Take Home Girls (1984), Bedtime Story (1984), Climax (1985), White Slavery (1985), Beware: Bed Sins (1985), at Kiri (1986).

In the late ’80s until the’ 90s Patrick was then lined up in action fiilms. This includes Baril, Matalik Kong Kaibigan (1988), Target… Police General: Major General Alfredo Lim Story (1989), Hanggang Saan Ang Tapang Mo (1990), Estribo Gang (1992), Lacson, Batas ng Navotas (1992), Beloy Montemayor Jr.: Tirador ng Cebu (1993), Enteng Manok: Tari ng Quiapo (1993), Maestro Torribio: Sentensyador (1994), Batas ang Katapat Mo (1995), Bastardo (1997), at Ping Lacson: Supercop (2000),

Patrick loved the acting profession because it opened up opportunities for him. Because of showbiz, he has run businesses and experienced to be a public servant.

But when asked when his plan to return to the entertainment industry. He said, “To be honest, may times na nami-miss ko ang showbiz, nami-miss kong umarte.”

“Kaya lang, if you will ask me now na bumalik sa showbiz, ayoko na. “No more na. Hindi na ako interesado,” he added.
