It is rumored that this Kapamilya star will have a show on TV5
TV5, tagged as the Kapatid network, is set to do its rebranding and it is rumored that a Kapamilya star will have a new show in there.
Previously, there had been talks in showbiz circle that the said network will have a new name – One TV. On the other hand, there were speculations that it is another network affiliated with the Channel 5.
Based on the article from the Philippine Entertainment Portal, rumors said that the rebranding launch of TV5 is set to happen on July 20. A source told the online entertainment outlet that originally, the scheduled launch was on April 13 but due to the lockdown, it was postponed.
“Ang latest, hindi na magpapalit ng pangalan ang TV5. Hindi na gagamitin ang One TV. Napagpasyahan ng kinauukulan na confusing kung One TV, tapos nasa Channel 5,” the source added.
It was also said that most of the entertainment shows in the new Kapatid network are blocktimers and Kris Aquino’s weekly talk show is also included.
Additionally, it is being anticipated that Channel 5 will carry the BL series titled My Extra Ordinary featuring showbiz newbies Darwin Yu and Enzo Santiago this month.
Another rumor is that Kapamilya star Jessy Mendiola will do a fitness program on TV5. Amid the franchise renewal issue of ABS-CBN and the NTC order stopping the operations of TV Plus and SKY Direct, rumors surfaced that Kapamilya stars are now allowed to seek employment to other networks.
Based on the article, ABS-CBN reached out to Cignal TV for negotiation to air some Kapamilya shows. A week ago, the company owned by Manny Pangilinan, who also owns Channel 5 had this tweet: “We are still in discussions with ABS CBN, we will keep you posted. Stay tuned on our website or social media accounts for updates.”
