According to the Facebook page of Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS), they were discovered by Mr. Antonio Cuino, a resident of Bgy. Luzviminda in the city on 5 PM, June 28, 2020, who eventually turned it over to the PCSDS.

The agency’s Wildlife Traffic Monitoring Unit (WTMU) immediately responded to the report that was made by the discoverer’s wife.

According to their report. Cuino and his father were on the cornfields that are about a kilometer away from their residence when they saw the said pangolins that were crawling from the lush vegetation in their area.

He caught them in perfect condition and, knowing that others might profit from the said creatures, turned it over to the agency in order for them to be taken care of properly.

Based on the report, the Palawan Pangolin (scientific name: Manis culionensis) is under the Critically Endangered list by the IUCN and Critically Endangered by PCSD under PCSD Resolution No. 15-521.
