Despite Travel Ban, Foreigners Arrived In PH, But Denied Entry In NAIA

FOREIGNERS DENIED ENTRY – Two foreign nationals from France and Switzerland were held-up in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Despite the travel ban for incoming foreigners, the two managed to catch a flight to the Philippines. According to the Frenchman, he wanted to visit his daughter at Bukidnon. Moreover, he claimed to have been coming back to the Philippines for over 10 years.

Additionally, he even knew how to speak Bisaya. However, when asked for documents, he failed to present any to the authorities. Meanwhile, the Swiss said he wanted to visit his girlfriend. He also claimed to have been going back and forth to the Philippines for several years.

According to an article from Balitambayan, the foreign nationals arrived along with the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from Abu Dhabi.

Although foreign nationals from international flights are still banned, domestic flights to and from General Quarantine Areas have been allowed.

Currently, the Philippines has reported over 36,438 cases of COVID-19. Of this number, 9,956 have recovered. Sadly, over a thousand have succumbed to the deadly disease.
