TEACHER CLIMBS TOP OF MOUNTAIN – The role of an educator could not be understated when it comes to building up the future of our nation.

Amid the pandemic, their sacrifice is more emphasized as they do their best to allow their students the opportunity to study. This was what teacher Efren Cabotage showed recently on his social media.

To say that the Philippines’ internet connection and speed is slow would be an understatement. For the longest time, the Philippines has lagged behind other Asian countries in terms of connection strength, consistency, and speed.

As such, during the coronavirus epidemic, teachers as well as thousands of students now face a difficult challenge. One of the first problems presented is the lack of equipment that would allow students to attend online classes. Aside from this, some students live in far-flung areas where data signals are scarce.

Recently, a group of teachers camped along the side of a highway just so they could get a signal on their phones to attend an online seminar for the starting of classes. Meanwhile, Cabotage climbed to the top of a mountain so he could enroll his students in the class.

Sadly, thousands of other students weren’t as lucky as the ones under Cabotage. Due to the virus, face-to-face enrollment had been temporarily halted to give way for safer online enrollment. However, not every student or teacher has the opportunity to do so.

Still, this shows the unwavering commitment some teachers have for the sake of educating the youth.
