Aniceto Bertiz III, Viral 2018 NAIA Incident Named TESDA Deputy Director-General

ANICETO BERTIZ III – Aniceto Bertiz III, the ex-lawmaker who was infamous for the viral 2018 NAIA incident, was recently named the deputy director-general of TESDA.

Benitez was known in a 2018 viral video for disregarding security protocols at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), according to Inquirer.

His appointment is TESDA was confirmed by Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque in a statement on Monday.

“Mr. Bertiz was the Representative of ACTS-OFW Partylist, and with the repatriation of thousands of overseas Filipino workers to the country, Mr. Bertiz has a huge task to fulfill, which is, to provide these returning Filipinos quality-assured and inclusive technical education and skills development, as envisioned by Tesda,”

“We hope that everyone would support DDG (Deputy Director-General) Bertiz as he begins his new assignment in this extraordinary time,”

Bertiz was harshly criticized in 2018 for disregarding security protocol by refusing to take off his shoes at the airport’s final screening area before his departure.

He further harassed an officer from the Office of Transportation Security (OTS).

He eventually made an apolgy for the said act and cited that he has “monthly period” which also received reaction from celebrities.

Based on the report, even before the incident, he was also viral for joking in a Professional Regulation Commission oath-taking that inductees who did not know Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, who was formerly the Presidential Special Assistant, will not get their professional license.
