Amid pandemic, how will Eat Bulaga and It’s Showtime play the rating game?
Kapuso noontime show Eat Bulaga already started airing live amid the pandemic while It’s Showtime is set to do the same.
Before the lockdown, the two rival shows on the noontime slot were doing live shows from Monday to Saturday. When the stay-at-home policy was implemented, host and production staff also had to do the same and so the live broadcast was stopped.
As the situation became lighter, the longest-running noontime show already resumed the live airing. However, the hosts and the staff are taking necessary measures in order to still follow the protocol.
Veteran hosts Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon are in their homes during the show and just interacted through Zoom. This set up is also done to child stars Ryzza Mae Dizon and Baste.

Hosts in the studio, Jose Manalo, Paolo Ballesteros, Wally Bayola, Maine Mendoza, and Alden Richards, are also observing physical distancing. Avid fans of the Kapuso show also got excited when the segment Bawal Judgmental went live again last Thursday with giant masks for the contestants, based on the article from Pilipino Star Ngayon.
Meanwhile, for several days, the hosts of It’s Showtime have been teasing their fans about their upcoming return. It was said that people should watch out for “magkasayan” in the show.
However, based on the article, there are questions arising on how the Kapamilya noontime show will do their live broadcast. Sources who asked those who are working in the show shared that the management already conducted “quarantine” for hosts and some contestants in order to prepare for the live show.
What can you say about this?
