19-Year-Old Student Arrested, Over P170K Worth Of Drugs Seized

19-YEAR-OLD STUDENT ARRESTED – Amid the coronavirus quarantine, there has been an influx of drug pushers being arrested by the authorities.

Due to quarantine protocols, traveling from city to city has become stricter. Residents who wish to travel must present valid documents such as ID and a travel pass to be allowed to go through checkpoints.

Because of this, several drug pushers have been arrested by authorities in these checkpoints. Many of them have alibis from donating food for front liners to visiting family.

This time, a 19-year-old student was apprehended by the police for allegedly pushing illegal drugs in Barangay 136, Pasay City. According to a report from DZBB, the student was carrying over P170,000 worth of shabu.

Some of the more elaborate plans to smuggle in drugs was with the use of food. One dealer used the online food service “Joy Ride” to deliver drugs.

A video post by Philippines CCTV & DASH CAM Spotted, an observant rider of Joyride, without hesitation, surrendered the pack of loaf bread he supposed to deliver to his customer.

The rider went to authorities to verify his suspicions and also to witness what is inside the bread. One of the authorities open the plastic and check the bread, the rider also clarified that he didn’t open it before he brings it to them.

The kagawad voluntarily open the said bread and check them by piece. Then while on the mid part of bread a piece of plastic appeared containing a small amount of suspected marijuana.
