NPA Rebel Arrested In Balbalan, Kalinga For Murder

NPA REBEL – An NPA rebel (New People’s Army) was recently arrested in Balbalan town in Kalinga on Monday night for murder.

The said rebel was wanted for multiple frustrated murder and two counts of murder, according to a report from Philippine Star.

Kalinga police director Col. Davy Limmong that the rebel, identified as Pancho Lunes of the New People’s Army’s Lejo Cawilan Command, was marked in an ambush way back in the year 2002.

The ambush was left with two fatalities, identified as soldiers.

Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Rwin Pagkalinawan added that the capture was based on a warrant that was issued by Judge Marcelino Wakas of the Regional Trial Court Branch 35 in Tabuk.

Based on the report, no bail was recommended for Lunes. Pagkalinawan added that a reward of ₱700K was offered for any intel that would lead to the arrest of the said rebel.
