Predator Drone Spotted Amid Protests In Minneapolis

Predator Drone Spotted Flying Over Protests Over Death Of George Floyd

PREDATOR DRONE SPOTTED – Following the death of George Floyd, several protests have erupted in the United States.

Usually, in large events such as the Black Lives Matter movement, hobbyists use drones to document the event. Along with them, law enforcement also uses drones to quickly tag rioters or those trying to cause trouble.

However, what doesn’t usually appear during these events are Predator Drones used in warfare, especially in American cities. But, during a protest in Minneapolis, one was spotted flying over the city.

According to an article from Yahoo News, these drones are officially called the “General Atomics MQ-1 Predator”. These are not used by your local hobbyists but by people from the Air Force, CIA, and Military use during wars.

Meanwhile, the drone spotted flying through Minneapolis was reported to belong to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). However, it wasn’t known who requested it.

Based on the investigations of a journalist named Jason Paladino, the drone appeared to have taken off from Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota. Following the distress caused by the drone sighting, a spokesperson for the CPB said:

a US Customs and Border Protection, Air and Marine Operations unmanned aircraft system was preparing to provide live video to aid in situational awareness at the request of our federal law enforcement partners in Minneapolis…

Moreover, he emphasized that the unarmed aircraft system provided live footage to ground law enforcement to aid in situational awareness. Additionally, the drone aimed to assist in maximizing public safety and to minimize threat to personnel.

However, it was later determined that the Predator Drone was not necessary and was returned to North Dakota.
