Live-in Couple Pretending as Face Masks Seller Online Nabbed in Laguna
STA. ROSA, LAGUNA – A live-in couple nabbed in an entrapment operation in the place after pretending as sellers of face masks online.
The couple was arrested in an entrapment operation in Laguna, after they pretended to sell face masks and solicited up to P10 million to various customers on Thursday.
According to Police Major Leandro Gutierrez, chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – Laguna Provincial Field Unit, the complaint came from a businessman who had been trading with suspects.
The live-in couple were identified as Blessie Mae Altoveros at Enrico Mendoza. The two sell a face mask for just P350 per box, which the price is much lower compared to other sellers, that’s why the victim attracted.
The complainant had already paid P2 million but his order did not come. After that, the suspect again asked an additional P300,000, based on the report of ABS-CBN News.
So he has already contacted the police as he felt strange feeling what he was dealing with. The entrapment operation was conducted at a gas station in Balibago, Santa Rosa, Laguna where the two met.
They were arrested while receiving the boodle money. The couple was reported to have 10 victims and estimated to be worth P10 million pesos. They have been charged with large scale estafa.
