Chinese National Who Go Out to Buy Food Nabbed by Police in Pasay
PASAY CITY – A Chinese national who was allegedly looking for food on Thursday evening, was nabbed for violating quarantine protocols.
According to Pasay City Police chief Col. Deanry Francisco, the Chinese national has no quarantine pass when he was arrested around 10:45 p.m. along Diokno Boulevard Corner Coral Way. The foreign was identified as Jihua Yang, 33, resident of Barangay 76, Pasay City.
Aside from the Chinese, the 28-year-old driver named Jan Ramirez was also arrested for the same violation, based on the report of Inquirer. Pasay City policemen “chanced upon [both] roaming around despite several notices of ordering them to return and stay at home,” Southern Police District said.
The Philippine government is currently implementing stricter rules and regulations as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19. The authorities would allow a family representative to go outside to buy food and medicines but they need to present a quarantined pass.
Invalid reasons will not be accepted and going outside without important matters are prohibited. The entire Luzon is now under a modified enhanced community quarantine, but will mitigated soon to general enhanced community starting June 1.
