However, Gomez recently complained that the agencies that are involved in the said program did not coordinate with him properly. He stressed in his Facebook post on May 25 that they received the information that OFWs arrived at Palo, Leyte on the same day. “It only takes one infected person to get to our city to infect a hundred innocent people bec of carelessness from the national government agencies,” he said.

Following this, the Ormoc Mayor answered the statement of Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo saying that he was “nataranta”. In his Instagram post, Gomez answered elaborately the points being thrown to his previous statement.

He was the one who said that he is not going to accept anybody from entering or leaving the place. Okay man lang ‘yan (That’s okay). It’s part of maybe the vigilance that a person nurtures in his heart of how to do it.”

In line with what the Chief Executive said, Rappler’s “fact-check” rated the said statement against the Ormoc City Mayor as “false”.
