Fake Cigarettes Worth Almost a Billion at Rice Mill Seized by Authorities

Cauayan City, Isabela – The police authorities have recovered fake cigarettes worth nearly a billion at a rice mill in Brgy. Palattao, Naguilian, Isabela.

The police authorities together with BIR and the Provincial Director of Isabela Police Provincial Office (IPPO) conducted a raid at a warehouse in Brgy. Palattao, Naguilian, Isabela. The authorities discovered 200 workers from Visayas and Mindanao and four Korean nationals.

The warehouse contains machines, trucks, and numerous boxes of fake cigarettes, which were supposed to be delivered. Unfortunately, the delivery has been haltered at the checkpoint of PNP Naguilian together with the Highway Patrol Group.

It has been discovered that the Lucky J 888 Rice Mill Corp owned by a certain Peter Hou has been registered the last 2019. Unfortunately, the truth has been revealed after the raid, discovering that the rice mill warehouse contains fake cigarettes instead of rice.

The residents of in Brgy. Palattao, Naguilian were also shocked on what they have discovered. They did not think that illegal activities are happening inside the warehouse.

On Friday (May 29, 2020), the authorities together with other government agencies would continue to conduct an investigation regarding the factory of fake versions of a popular cigarette brand.
