SAP Distribution 2nd Tranche Can Begin Says Palace

Palace: 2nd Tranche Distribution Of SAP Can Now Begin

SAP DISTRIBUTION 2ND TRANCHE – Following the two-month Enhanced Community Quarantine, Malacañang greenlit the second tranche of the social amelioration program.

Amid the coronavirus quarantine, low-earning or poor families were given cash aid by the government to get by. Additionally, following the first tranche of the SAP, President Rodrigo Duterte said an additional 5 million families would be included as beneficiaries.

This second round of SAP subsidies includes the additional 5 million families according to Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque. Along with the additional families, the previous 12 million would also be given cash aid.

According to an article from ABS-CBN, Roque stated:

Puwede na pong ipamahagi yung second tranche ng SAP. So kasama na po diyan yung 5 milyon mga bagong pangalan na bibigyan ng ayuda at yung 12 milyon na dati na pong nakakuha ng ayuda during the first tranche

Moreover, he emphasized that the distribution of the SAP to the beneficiaries should be processed continuously. However, the difference in the 2nd tranche is that electronic devices would now be used in the distribution.

Ang pagkakaiba po eh gagamitan na natin ng electronic ways para magbayad dun sa ating mga kababayan, at tutulong na po ang hukbong sandatahan sa pagdi-distribute ng ayuda

The Philippine Government had a budget of P200 billion for poor families to help them get through the coronavirus crisis. As such, families would be given P5,000 to P8,000 twice during April and May based on the minimum wages of their areas.

As of Saturday, May 23, the government has distributed around P98.9 billion in cash aid to over 17.5 million beneficiaries under the SAP.
