PH Army Successfully Stops NPA Members Froom Planned Attack During Relief Operations

11 NPA members have died after allegedly planning to attack the relief distribution operation in Surigao Del Sur.

The 401st Infantry “Unite N Fight” Brigade of 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division of the Philippine Army successfully stopped the planned attack of the New People’s Army in Surigao del Sur during relief operations for the families affected by COVID-19-related lockdowns.

4th ID spokesperson Captain Al Anthony Pueblas said that the agency received a tip from a local resident regarding the gathering of North Eas-tern Mindanao Regional Committee in Andap Valley Complex, Surigao del Sur.

NPA Members

The army immediately conducted a series of security operations and raided the NPA’s camp with 150 members. 11 members of the rebel groups have been killed during the operation to stop the attack.

The authorities recovered five firearms, two laptops, overhead projector, flash drivers, external drives, and other valuables owned by NPA.

The authorities also conducted several follow-up operations and had five different encounters with the rebels in isolated areas in Andap Valley complex, wherein top NPA officials were severely wounded.

The NPA top officials have been identified as Alvin Loque alias “Joaquin Jacinto”, the spokesperson of Komisyon Min-danao (KOMMID), Alfie Masinatao Basa alias “Momoy”, Vice CO of Regional Headquarters (RHQ), NEMRC, and Lorna Pamutongan Gomez a.k.a “Momay”, a medical staff of RHQ, NEMRC.
