Guidelines for Eid’l Fitr on May 25 to be Released by DILG

DILG is now set to release the guideline for the upcoming Eid’l Fitr on May 25, 2020 (Monday) amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier this week, President Rodrigo Duterte has declared May 25, 2020 as a regular holiday in observance of the Feast of Ramadan or popularly known as Eid’l Fitr. Mr. Duterte made the declaration through Proclamation 944.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea signed the proclamation through the recommendation of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos. However, quarantine guidelines must be observed during the holiday.

Recently, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año informed our Muslim countrymen that any form of mass gathering is still prohibited. He said that guidelines will be issued to ensure that the health guidelines will be followed.

“Maglalabas kami ng guidelines and advisory to ensure that Muslim revelers will follow the minimum health standards and no mass gathering shall be observed,” Año said.
