Eight Individuals Arrested In Cagayan For Illegal Gambling
CAGAYAN – Eight individuals were arrested in Cagayan on Sunday, May 17, after they were reportedly engaged in illegal gambling
According to PhilStar, among them includes two barangay officials and six beneficiaries of the social amelioration program (SAP).
The two barangay officials were identified as barangay secretary Elizabeth Tabia, aged 49, and treasurer Sharon Cenal, aged 40, both from Pamplona town. They were reportedly found playing a game of cards with Elenita Maribung, aged 40, at the residenceof Adelina Arinabo.
As per the report, the six SAP beneficiaries, on the other hand, had received their emergency cash assisstance when they were also reportedly playing a game of CARDS In Barangay Lallayug in the municipality of Tuao.
Among them were four who managed to escape when the raiding tea arrived at the scene. Recovered from the scene were cash and sets of playing cards.
