Lockdown is possible Again COVID increases in MECQ Said DOH
DOH Spokesperson Maria Rosario Vergeire reminded Filipinos that lockdown will possibly be imposed again if COVID-19 cases rise MECQ areas.
Vergeire again reminded Filipinos not to go out when not necessary and they should leave the house when needed.
“Sa ating nakatalagang guidelines, kailangang tandaan na naka-community quarantine pa rin tayong lahat,” she said on “Newsroom Weekend” of CNN Philippines.
“Kailangan malaman ng mga tao na lahat tayo ay may obligasyon na gagawin. We need to be disciplined para ‘di tayo magkaroon ng second surge of cases,” she added.
On the first day of Metro Manila’s involvement in the modified enhanced quarantine community, malls and EDSA stretches were nearly full. Thus, according to Vergeire, it is possible to return to the total lockdown when the number of COVID-19 cases increases again with modified ECQ, based on the report of TNT Abante.
“Lahat ng preventive measures ay kailangan gawin para hindi magkaroon ng bagong surge ng cases at baka maoverwhelm na ang ating sistema,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, as some of areas in the Philippines have mitigated from enhanced community quarantine to general community quarantine, people flock in markets, bus terminals and malls without observing COVID-19 safety measures. People snub the protocols thinking the virus is already gone.
Recalling on the public address of President Rodrigo Duterte, he mentioned the types of waves of infection of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). He pointed out after the first wave there will be second wave and third wave, which is more powerful and quickly spread.
