Coco Martin and his sudden silence
Kapamilya actor Coco Martin, after defending ABS-CBN with his controversial statement, went silent. Does this mean he fears he might face a lawsuit?
The Ang Probinsyano star was one of the first Kapamilya celebrities who spoke on social media after the National Telecommunications Commission issued the cease and desist order against their home network.
His strong words became an inspiration to ABS-CBN supporters. However, there were those who criticized him for his statement against the government.
Following his controversial statement, the actor went silent on social media, based on the article by columnist Rey Pumaloy in Abante Entertainment. His last post was on Mother’s Day but prior to that, he was active sharing posts defending ABS-CBN.

Coco also has not responded to regarding the Congress’ decision to grant provisional franchise to ABS-CBN that drew out positive comments from several Kapamilya celebrities.
Pumaloy also noticed that the actor has not updated his followers regarding his sudden silence. The columnist added that it is possible someone advised Coco Martin to stop posting for a while and that he might face charges for what he said. “Ha? Natakot si Cardo Dalisay sa demanda?” Pumaloy said in his article.
Meanwhile, the columnist also mentioned about the recent video of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, collectively known as KathNiel. He said that the celebrity couple received criticisms for speaking up late about the issue because the Congress has already acted upon it.
However, based on the article, there were those who said that the statements of Kathryn and Daniel are just timely because they called for unity amid the crisis.
