The similarity between the Laban Kapamilya symbol and the pose of GMA News anchors and reports
The Laban Kapamilya symbol was first used by the news anchors and reporters of the GMA network back in 2019.
As ABS-CBN is in the midst of the battle against the National Telecommunications Commission for its cease and desist order, Kapamilya stars have been doing various ways to show their support to their home network.
The management has officially released the guidelines for their Laban Kapamilya symbol. In the photo, the right hand with clenched fist should be put on the heart.
Several celebrities in the Kapamilya network already uploaded their photos on social media doing this symbol. However, based on the article from PEP, this kind of symbol was first made by GMA news anchors and reporters during their Election 2019 coverage.
Reportedly, members of the Kapuso news and public affairs department had a pictorial last February 2019. “Puso para sa buong Pilipino,” the message they want to share to the public at that time.
This image was put on the lamp posts outside the GMA network entrance at Timog Avenue. A year after that, celebrities from the Kapamilya network did the same post to fight for their home amid the franchise issue.
Based on the article, since the same pose was done by both people from the Kapuso and Kapamilya network, there were netizens who edited the photos and made it look like that those from GMA showed support for ABS-CBN by doing the Laban Kapamilya symbol.
