The Sunday 11 PM weather bulletin from the state weather bureau says that Tropical Depression Ambo has maintained its strength and will continue to move northwest toward the city of Surigao, Surigao del Norte.

According to GMA News, the weather disturbance was last spotted at around 405 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

Ambo is packed with maximum sustained winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 55 kilometers per hour. It is now moving at 20 kilometers per hour.

It is less likely that the bureau will be raising a tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) over any area in the country within the next 48 hours.

As per the report, Tropical Depression Ambo will bring scattered light to moderate with isolated heavy rains during thunderstorms over Mindanao.

Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental will face moderate to rough seas, hence, the bureau warned fishermen and those with small seacraft not to venture out the said areas.

It is expected that Ambo will be 430 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte by Monday evening.
