Filipino Giving Dirty Finger While Burning China’s Flag Resurface Online
PHOTO – Filipino raising a dirty finger to the Chinese embassy while burning China’s national flag resurface online after and earned various reactions.
Netizens revive the image of a Filipino raising a dirty finger in front of the Chinese Embassy in Manila, while the Chinese flag is on fire. It also wears a t-shirt with a big picture of the middle finger and the phrase “Hey China”.
A Filipino journalist and political commentator, Waldy Carbonell did this on July 1, 2019, to condemn “bullying” and “dahan-dahang pananakop” of China in the Philippines. This prompted after the Chinese left 22 Filipino fishermen to sink boat after being hit by a Chinese fishing vessel in the West Philippine Sea on June 9, 2019.
Carbonnel photo was uploaded again on Reddit thread entitled “Filipino giving the finger to the Chinese embassy while burning their flag,” this May 4. As many netizens reminisce about the hot issue of China against the government of the Philippines.
Previously, Many Filipino netizens in China shrieked amid the COVID-19 pandemic, when China released a ‘Iisang Dagat’ song that supposedly propagated for China to display its rule over the West Philippine Sea. The song earned various reactions from the netizens, mostly criticisms.
