Pres. Duterte Wants To Express Gratitude to ABS-CBN Network Over their Help in Fight Against COVID-19

DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is grateful to the ABS-CBN network over their COVID-19 help.

Currently, the trending topic on social media is the Cease and Desist Order Against the ABS-CBN network. It was yesterday when the network was ordered to stop its operation on-air immediately.

The Kapamilya network was quick to respond to the order. They announced that they will go off-air and it gained different reactions from the people. Undeniably, many people are disappointed over the sudden incident.

The said Cease and Desist Order is over the franchise of the Kapamilya network. Previously, there were assurances that they can continue with their operation while their franchise has yet to be discussed in the Congress.

Amid the different sides regarding the NTC order against the ABS-CBN, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte wants to express his thanks to the network. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the President is grateful over the help of the network on the fight against COVID-19.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the President told him to thank ABS-CBN and to enumerate all that the network did in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.

“He said that anyone who has helped the people in this time of crisis, I will be grateful to. That’s why if he could, he probably would have done something for the ABS-CBN franchise,” Roque expressed based on the report.

Aside from expressing his gratitude to the network, the President also apologized to two (2) business tycoons, Ayalan and Manny V. Pangilinan, he previously had harsh words against. Roque stressed that he is thankful to everyone who helped amid the pandemic.
