BRAINTEASERS: I Am The Beginning Of Sorrow… | Answer & Explanation

BRAINTEASERS – In this topic, we are going to know the answer and explanation of the “I Am The Beginning Of Sorrow…” brainteaser.

BRAINTEASERS

The Oxford dictionary defines brainteasers as problems or puzzles, typically those designed to be solved for amusement. It is the informal term of puzzles, problems, or riddles.

It is a type of puzzle where it is hard to find the answer but amuses people as they try to solve it. The problems seems simple enough but tricks you into answering the wrong question.

Here is yet another of these riddles that we are going to answer and explain. Here is the following riddle:

I am the beginning of sorrow and the end of sickness. You cannot express happiness without me yet I am in the midst of crosses. I am always in risk yet never in danger. You may find me in the sun, but I am never out of darkness. What am I?

Answer

The answer is actually as easy as it sounds. It is none other than the letter S. We will read the lines once more, but one by one:

Explanation

I am the beginning of sorrow and the end of sickness.

Sorrow starts with the letter S as you can see. As for sickness, it ends with two Ss.

“You cannot express happiness without me yet I am in the midst of crosses.”

Without S, it would be spelled as “happine” now, wouldn’t it? As for crosses, two Ss are in the middle or midst.

“I am always in risk yet never in danger.”

Both risk and danger are nearly the same, but risk has the letter S in it, something the word danger doesn’t have.. unless its in plural form.

“You may find me in the sun, but I am never out of darkness.”

Sun and darkness are contradictory to one another, yet the letter S can be found in both.
