Willie Revillame warns people against this scammer
Wowowin host Willie Revillame filed a complaint to the Nationa Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against an online scammer who has been using his name.
Willie, as he is a game show host, has become a beacon of hope to many people who need help when it comes to the financial aspect. Outside Wowowin, he is also known for helping a lot of people, especially when the enhanced community quarantine was implemented.
However, this act of the TV host has also become an opportunity for other people to take advantage. In the recent Wowowin (Tutok To Win) episode, Willie reminded his viewers to be vigilant against those social media accounts that are using his name or his program for online scams, based on Bandera’s article.
He said that he already filed a complaint. “Hindi po totoo na meron akong Facebook, Twitter o YouTube. Wala po akong kinalaman dyan. Hindi po akin ‘yan. Iyan po ay isang fake account sa Facebook. Pinapahanap na po namin ‘yan sa NBI,” he shared.
Apparently, the matter raised concern and so the TV host had to do something about it. “Ni-report ka na namin. May kakatok sa ‘yo, may posas ka na. Wala kayong ginawa kundi mangwalanghiya ng tao. Sa panahon na ‘to ba naman gagawa pa kayo ng ganyan?” he added.
Willie also said that at this time, people should show compassion and concern to others and not taking advantage. He also stressed out to his viewers not to give their contact information to anyone.
“Maraming manloloko, ‘Ako si Willie, may P10,000 ka.’ Lolokohin lang kayo niyan. ‘Pasahan mo ako ng load. Bigyan mo ako ng ganito.’ Ako po ang magsasabi dito. ‘Pag hindi ako, hindi valid ‘yan,” he reiterated.
Willie Revillame reminded his viewers that he or his program, Wowowin, is not asking for money from the people, the reality is otherwise.
