According to ABS-CBN News, the government heads who debunked the viral media were the Malacañang Palace, the Department of National Defense, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

The clip plays a voice of a woman warning people of a supposed upcoming total lockdown. This was immediately denounced by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Sunday night, saying that it is fake news.

Meanwhile, GMA Network also debunked the said clip after rumors claimed that it was the voice of their well-known veteran journalist Jessica Soho.

They further disproved the claim by saying that Soho did not even made such statement, urging the public not to share the said clip, which could cause confusion.

As per the report, Jonathan Malaya, Undersecretary of the interior department, said that the President did not release such directive.

Defense Secretary and chair of the national task force on COVID-19, meanwhile, clarified that they will only strictly observe physical distancing protocol.

“We have to do this from now up to end of April and hope that the new cases decrease and so we can slowly go back to normal,”

“There is no total lockdown. Essential travels are still allowed,”
