Germany Rattles China, Bills Them £130 Billion For Coronavirus Damages
GERMANY BILLS CHINA £130 BILLION – In a rare turn of events, Germany, UK, France, and the US have ganged up against China.
Previously, the US had been very critical of China and the World Health Organization for allegedly conspiring during the coronavirus pandemic. Their top officials said China had been withholding critical information during the early days of the virus.
Meanwhile, Germany rattled China after sending an invoice of £130 Billion that Beijing “owes” Berlin. Moreover, an article from Express stated the United Kingdom had also investigated China for allegedly creating COVID-19 in a lab.
Before, the origins of COVID-19 was traced to a wet food market in the central city of Wuhan. However, intelligence agencies from US believe otherwise. Thus, an investigation was conducted.
Along with this, Germany’s largest tabloid newstpaper, Bild, revealed an itemized invoice for around €149 billion (£130b). Here is how the list was broken down:
- €27 billion = Damages to tourism revenue
- €7.2 billion = Damage to German film industry
- €1 million/hour = Damages to German airline Lufthansa
- €50 billion = Small businesses
- €1,784 per person if the GDP falls by 4.2%
As per the article, China stated that the invoice was simply a bid to stir up xenophobia and nationalism against the country. Meanwhile, China is trying to portray a “savior” image for sending aid to needy countries after claiming to have controlled the virus in their country.
Currently, COVID-19 has infected over 2,400,000 people worldwide. Along with this, the virus had claimed more than 165,899 lives. Meanwhile, over 635,698 have recovered.
