Former NPA Member Who Surrendered to Gov’t Reportedly Shot by Soldier

CAUAYAN CITY, ISABELA – A soldier reportedly shot a former NPA member who surrendered to the Philippine government.

Former NPA member Pedro Anog died after he was shot by a soldier identified as Jerry Dungliin at Brgy. Rang-Ayan, City in Ilagan.The incident reportedly happened after the two had an exchange of heated argument during a drinking session.

Pedro Anog is a resident of Brgy. Alibadabad, San Mariano, Isabela while the suspect Jerry Dungliin is a member of 52nd Military Intelligence Company of 5th MIB Philippine Army.

According to the management of 5th Division Public Affairs Office, the suspect voluntarily surrendered to the authorities after hiding for days. Dungliin is now facing administrative and criminal charges due to the incident.

The suspect also violated the lockdown protocols for drinking amid the enhanced community quarantine and liquor ban in the province of Isabela.

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of the Philippines are already cooperating with the victim’s family to bring Anog’s remain to his home at San Mariano, Isabela.
