Following the death of his son, personnel of the Rizal Medical Center in Pasig City gave his sons body in a box wrapped in packing tape.

As per the report, Canas and his wide were admitted to the Pasig hospital on March 11. There, she gave premature birth to her son. Sadly, their baby was diagnosed with congenital heart disease.

This caused the baby to be confined for a month in the hospital. However, their baby eventually lost the battle and died on Monday, April 13 at 2:00 PM. But, before they left the hospital, they were billed for P245,000 for the delivery and confinement.

Due to Canas being a construction worker, he could not afford the payment of the bill. Because of this, he asked for desperate help from East Rembo barangay chairman Thelma P. Ramirez for a certificate of indigence

But, when the Chairman learned of Canas’ situation, she arranged for the child to be buried. However, Canas wanted to bury the body in a vacant lot within the compound they rented.
