He landed a fashion gig in South Korea when he styled EXO Channyeol 4 years ago for a magazine photo shoot. After that start, he already did many projects already in the same field. However, one call from a director took his styling stint to a higher level.

“I was more focused on doing magazine covers and ad campaigns for some brands like Cartier, Estée Lauder, Calvin Klein etc. but everything changed when I received an offer directly from Mr. Kim Won Seok (director of Arthdal Chronicles) asking me to style the looks for the series” Jack shared.

That project opened his awareness in the world of K-dramas. He said that at first, he was hesitant to do the project because it was not his safe zone. However, the cast was so warm to him. “I remembered filming our first few scenes and we were like outdoors. I forgot my insect repellent and Joong Ki noticed that I was itching while styling him and then he gave me his and from that he has been sending me and my team packs of repellents weekly,” the Pinoy stylist said.

When the offer came to his way to be the stylist of The King: Eternal Monarch, Jack Cruz said that he was unsure at first. “I wanted to have a break after my first series but who am I to say no to the very person who introduced me to the world of K-Drama (Lovers in Paris, Descendants of the Sun, Goblin) right? So I said yes haha,” the Filipino main stylist of the K-drama said.

He also shared that it took him a month to conceptualize because he had to deal with outfits from different generation. Working with the big stars in South Korea, Jack shared that he felt pressured, especially talking about their huge fan base.

However, he is glad that he got the trust of the main cast. Jack Cruz even shared one encounter with Lee Min Ho. “One night after filming, Lee Minho offered to drop me off at my place. While on our way I was very vocal to him that I am quite nervous on how his fans will take all the looks that I created for him and he just went like “I trust you and you are good with what you do,” the stylist said.
