Kind Young Kid in Iloilo Donate His P500 Savings to Frontliners
A kind 10-year-old kid in Iloilo wanted to donate his P500 savings to help the frontliners who keep fighting against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Recently, the Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas shared an inspiring post on his Facebook page where a 10-year-old known as “Sky” has earned praise from the netizens because despite his young age his thought to be helping COVID-19 frontliners.
Mayor Treñas shared Sky’s personal message to him as he was touched by the boy’s kindness. Instead of keeping the P532 collected throughout the school year, Sky chose to donate it to the Iloilo City Government’s donation drive for those fighting the spread of COVID-19.
According to the post, Sky’s graduation ceremony is canceled, which he is about to finish grade 6. He would have bought a cellphone from them money he saved when he’s still attending school.
“This student, Sky, was saving money for her graduation to buy a new cellphone. She saved up 532 pesos, and since she cannot celebrate her graduation, she decided to give her money to our frontliners for their food,” said Mayor Treñas.
“Thank you, Sky, for thinking of others especially our frontliners. We have to take care of them so that they can continue to take care of us,” the Mayor added.
Meanwhile, the Facebook post has gone viral on social media as many netizens praised the charitable action of the young kid. The Mayor’s post reached almost 11,000 and 1,600 shares.
