Man Doing Penance in Pampanga Arrested for Violating Lockdown Protocol
A man in Mabalacat City, Pampanga doing penance or ‘penetinsiya’ amid holy week got arrested for violating lockdown protocol.
Police arrested a man doing penance at Madapdap resettlement, Mabalacat City, Pampanga. The 19-year-old was thronged by his barrio neighbors as he did penance under heavy sunshine for Holy Monday.
In a report of ABS-CBN, He did not finish his penance after being arrested by police. Aside from the male penitent, the police also arrested all the curious people who were behind him.
Col. Eduardo Guevarra, Mabalacat City Police Chief.
As enhanced community quarantine implemented throughout Central Luzon, going out on the road without important matter to do, is strictly prohibited. The church has also issued orders to cancel all Lenten activities in the province following the Luzon-wide lockdown.
Jean Fajardo, provincial director of the Pampanga Police Provincial Office.
