Some Bakeries In Navotas Sell Pandesal At P1 Each To Help Those Affected By Lockdown

BAKERIES SELL PANDESAL AT P1 EACH – Amid the spread of COVID-19 in the country, bakeries in Navotas are doing their part to help those affected by the lockdown.

Recently, the Philippine Government had extended the lockdown in Luzon until April 30 in a bid to stop the spread of COVID-19. Likewise, other provinces have also followed and extended their own quarantines.

Admittedly, some residents had been heavily affected by the quarantine. Luckily, several kindhearted bakery owners decided they were going to help out as best they can.

According to an article from ABS-CBN, bakeries from Navotas have decided to sell their “Pandesal” for merely P1 per piece!

Jane Banayad, executive assistant in the Navotas Mayor’s office stated that the local government received donations of flour from big companies. These donations would be spread to over 30 bakeries in the city.

Aside from bakeries, several graduates of bread and pastry production courses in Navotas Training and Assessment Institute volunteered to make pandesal for the frontliners.

During times like this, even simple acts as giving food to our hard-working frontliners is already a big help. Additionally, residents are urged to stay at home to prevent further spread of the virus.

Currently, the Philippines had confirmed 3,764 cases of COVID-19. Meanwhile, over 100 people have died due to the virus.

Globally, the number of infected from COVID-19 had reached 1,432,409. Along with this, the virus had caused 82,114 fatalities. Meanwhile, 302,303 have recovered from the virus.
