La Carlota, Negros Occidental Remains Free From COVID-19
LA CARLOTA – The city of La Carlota in Negros Occidetal remains free from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to the city mayor.
According to SunStar, mayor Rex Jalando-on assured this to the public after Department of Health (DOH) posted on its website that a resident from the city has tested positive from the virus.
Jalando-on confirmed the case, identified as an overseas Filipino worker (OFW). He did, however, say that the resident was hospitalized in Metro Manila, which is the reason for the declaration.
The DOH report states that the resident admitted to a hospital after falling ill. Eventually, the resident was tested positive, despite latest reports state that the resident was tested negative upon second test.
The mayor said that the resident has not returned to the city and is still in the capital.
As per the report, he also added that one of the residents died from bilateral pneumonia. However, the fatality was neither a patient under investigation nor as a person under monitoring, not even have any travel history to COVID-19 affected areas nor any contact with positive cases.
