Taal Volcano is a complex volcano in the province of Batangas. It has an elevation of 311 meters or 1,020 feet.
Its northern half of the volcano is located in the border of Talisay town in Batangas, while its other half is in San Nicolas. The two towns are among the ten cities or towns surrounding the volcano.

The volcano is currently an active one, with its latest eruption on the 12th of January, 2020. Its eruption is a phreatic and strombolian type.
A phreatic is a type of eruption where the magma heats ground water or surface water. A strombolian, on the other hand, is a type of eruption that is described as having relatively mild blasts.
