Major General Debold Sinas, chief of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), said that the police officers, identified as Patrolman Arnold Geroy and Patrolman Sonny Maruzzo, were reported to have been harassing two of their female detainees after conducting a custodial debriefing, as per the report on Rappler.

Custodial debriefing includes obtaining personal data, physical information, and data about their family.

After the incident, the two imprisoned told what occurred to their duty jailer, which lead to the arrest of Geroy and Maruzzo, which occurred on Sunday, March 29.

Sinas said that he was dismayed about it, adding that as law enforcers, their authority should not be used for such an abuse. If caught and proven, the two policemen will be necessarily punished since such crimes will not be tolerated.

As per the report, Geroy and Maruzzo were probed for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 8353, also known as the Anti-Rape Law of 1997.
