Two People Nabbed For Selling Overpriced Masks, Alcohol In Las Piñas

LAS PIÑAS – Two individuals were arrested on Sunday afternoon after they were caught red-handed for selling overpriced masks and alcohol.

According to ABS-CBN News, the two suspects, identified as 27 and 37 years old women from Barangay Almanza Uno, were arrested by the local police in an entrapment operation held at about 6:30 evening.

Recovered from the suspects were 16 bottles of alcohol and 5 boxes of surgical masks with 50 pieces each.

They sold boxes of face masks for ₱1,500 each. As for alcohol, they sold at about ₱150 for a 500ml bottle, and ₱50 for a 150 ml bottle.

As per the report, they will be filed against for disobedience to a person in authority and violation of the Consumer Act.

Last week, Two Chinese nationals were arrested after selling overpriced masks in Pasay City.

The two Chinese, as well as their Filipino companion, allegedly sold face masks at about ₱1,700 per box.
