Albay Mayor Boy A. Galicia Orders Harvest of Its Own Fish Pond & Gives Free Fish to Residents
The kind-hearted mayor of Rapu Rapu, Albay harvested its own fish pond and gives free fish to the residents amid lockdown.
A few weeks ago, President Rodrigo Duterte has placed the entire Luzon on enhanced community quarantine after declaring a state of calamity in the Philippines. The measure aims to prevent the rampant spread of the coronavirus disease.
Mr. Duterte has also implemented lockdown in several provinces restricting the travel from one region to another to contain the spread of the virus. The lockdown protocols restrict the movements and transactions of the residents.
Different local government units were taking necessary actions to fulfill the needs of the residents under their area of jurisdiction. Several LGUs were distributing relief goods to their constituents.
Recently, a Facebook user named Ryte Niraga has praised Mayor Boy A. Galicia of Rapu Rapu, Albay for ordering the harvest of his own fish pond and gives free fish to the people. The photos goes viral and earn praise from the netizens.
According to Niraga, Mayor Galicia harvested his own fish pond filled with “Tilapia” and “Bangus”. He gives free fish to the residents of Rapu-Rapu amid the enhanced community quarantine.
