Grab Food Rider Continue to Work Amid COVID-19 Threat
A Grab Food rider who still working amid coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat said he’s more afraid of his wife than the dreadful virus.
Ride-hailing employees such Grab Food and Food Panda riders who delivers food are considered as frontliners battling the dreadful coronavirus disease country’s facing. Asisde from health care service workers, they are also considered frontliners for those in essential services needed.
While many were at home because of the existing community quarantine, workers in essential services continued their work to meet the needs of the people. Among them are riders or food delivery services who delivers orders to people who cannot get out of the house.
In a report of GMA News “24 Oras”, they are happy that their service is in demand today and they want to take advantage of it to increase their profits, “Sinasamtala po namin yung lakas ng biyahe,” said rider of Grab Food.
Meanwhile, he was asked by reporter Ivan Mayrina if he was not afraid of might be infected by the virus, he jokingly said, “Hindi ho. Mas takot ako sa misis ko kaysa sa COVID. Kapag wala ka hong inuwing pera maingay.”
Meanwhile, drugstores and grocery stores are still open and continue to provide service because many people need medication and others have not yet buy some goods and important things.
