The order is yet another measure in order to contain the threat of the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). It is also a measure to make up for the minimal testing of the virus for individuals that might have been infected with the disease.

According to Bohol Chronicles, Yap signed Executive Order No. 17 on Tuesday, which prevent residents from leaving their homes just to drink alcoholic beverages as an effort to observe social distancing in the province.

However, residents can drink alcoholic beverages if they do it in their homes without having visitors. People who are intoxicated are still banned from leaving their homes

EO 17 also orders the Philippine National Police and barangay officials to impose the new guideline.

Furthermore, Yap disclosed that the province, as well as the rest of Central Visayas have few testing kits. This urged him to fixate on enacting further preventive measures that are in lieu with social distancing.

As per the report, swab sample tests from Bohol patients are processed in Metro Manila or in Cebu City.

Yap also implied that the island province is unprepared towards an outbreak since their quarantine center is still readied and local health officials are requiring more PPEs.

The governor enacted at around 4 preventinve measures against COVID-19 in less than a couple of weeks.
