Mall Employee Accused of Stealing 3 Bottles of Alcohol
MALL EMPLOYEE – A mall employee was accused of stealing three bottles of alcohol worth P132.
The Philippine government is now in full alert due to the rapid spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus or COVID-19. The deadly virus from China is causing fear and panic to the public.
The pandemic caused panic buying of medical supplies including hand sanitizers alcohol bottles and surgical masks. Those items can be used to prevent being infected by the virus.
In a previous article, a kind-hearted Filipina chemist gave free ethyl alcohol to the people who can’t afford alcohol. She said that she’s prioritizing the elderly and the infants.
Based on a report from Cebu Daily News, a promodizer landed in jail after she allegedly stole 3 bottles of alcohol. The item she stole on Thursday afternoon, March 19 was worth P132.
The 21-year-old woman claimed that she only hid the alcohol afraid that it will run out of supply. She said she will pay for the items after her shift.
According to the report, Police Captain Alvin Llamedo of the Carbon Police Station said that the management of the mall already filed a complaint against the woman before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
The chief said the woman will remain in detention until the mall management wants to take a settlement agreement. Llamedo said he would have opted for a settlement because the mall employee may already be panicking due to the coronavirus threat.
“Kung buot huna-hunaon na ratol na siguro ng tawo ba gumikan sa sitwasyon. Kung kami pa buoton ato, tagaan ra unta to namo og gamay nga konsiderasyon,” he said.
