Raging street dweller refused help from DSWD
A raging street dweller refused help from the staff of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) amid the enhanced community quarantine.
After the government declared the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon, authorities started to implement stricter rules and regulations in order to prevent the continued spread of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The local government units started doing disinfection in their respective municipalities and cities. Works in private sectors were also minimized except those who are in the frontline such as the health workers and police.
Everyone is also advised to stay at home for a month or so as much as possible. On the other hand, for important matters, people are still allowed to go out.
However, even though is it advised to stay at home as much as possible, it is also a fact that there are quite a lot of Filipinos who are homeless. Some are just sleeping on the streets and they are more prone to get the virus because of this.
With this, the DSWD is helping those who are living on the streets. However, a raging street dweller refused to accept help from the department.
Staff members from DSWD are rescuing street dwellers amid the enhanced community quarantine. However, they were faced with difficulty in their job when a woman who is living on the streets refused to go with them.
Based on the video posted on the official Twitter account of DZMM, the woman was raging as DSWD staff were trying to rescue her. Apparently, she did not want to go with them but eventually, the staff was able to carry her near the service car.
